The Oyster Perpetual is the purest expression of the Oyster concept with its clear, accurate and reliable time display. The Oyster Perpetual is the direct descendant of the original Oyster launched in 1926; the first waterproof wristwatch in the world and the foundation on which Rolex has built its reputation.
THE QUINTESSENTIAL OYSTER
The Oyster Perpetual comprises the renowned Rolex waterproof Oyster case and Manufacture mechanical self-winding Perpetual movement. As a Rolex Superlative Chronometer, the Oyster Perpetual is endowed with all the fundamental attributes of the Oyster collection. This timeless model stands out with its eye- catching dials, available in elegant and sporty colours.
THE OYSTER PERPETUAL, SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER
Like all Rolex watches, each Oyster Perpetual is certified as a Superlative Chronometer. This exclusive designation attests that it has successfully undergone a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, which exceed watchmaking standards. These tests are carried out on the fully assembled watch, in order to guarantee its superlative performance on the wrist.
THE OYSTER CASE, SYMBOL OF WATERPROOFNESS
The Oyster Perpetual’s Oyster case - guaranteed to be waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet) – is a symbol of robustness. The characteristically shaped middle case is crafted from a solid block of highly corrosion-resistant 904L steel. The fluted case back is screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers access to the movement. The winding crown, fitted with the Twinlock double waterproofness system, screws down securely against the case. The crystal is made of virtually scratchproof sapphire. The waterproof Oyster case provides optimal and efficient protection for the Oyster Perpetual’s high-precision movement.
THE OYSTER BRACELET, COMFORTABLE AND SECURE
The Oyster Perpetual watches are paired with a solid-link Oyster bracelet in 904L steel, which is very secure and comfortable to wear. The bracelet is equipped with a folding Oysterclasp designed by Rolex.
