The Panerai Luminor Heritage
Panerai created the first Luminor in the 1940s as a watch intended for military use. The name Luminor comes from the luminous substance applied to each model. Taking advantage of an already long established history in producing precision instruments, Panerai introduced a timepiece that is reliable, water resistant and easily readable. At the time these features were essential for military use, now they are the minimum standards that we have come to expect. The distinctive features of the Luminor watch collection are the large dial, lever device protecting the winding crown making it shock and water resistant and the highly accurate Panerai movements.
